Love Story April 08, 2020 at 02:08PM

Two worlds collide. . . . I drew this picture before I turned 21, almost 11 years ago. It had been really hard for us both to find stable jobs. Robert had recently, finally, gotten a full time job working as a garbage man. He worked for a private company that didn't follow rules/regulations about employee safety. For example if the garbage truck was moving faster than 5 MPH they were supposed to let him get in the front of the truck. They would leave him hanging on to the back of the truck while it was going 40-60 MPH... in the rain, snow, and wind. I was scared for his safety every single day. He made very little money but was so proud of all his hard work and believe it or not I was able to scrimp and save budgeting the money to make it work for us. Each day he would work harder and run faster because he knew when he got done with his route he would be able to come home... to me. . . . I worked part time jobs here and there when I could find them. When I was not working I would run errands, do chores, and make crafts to keep my anxiety levels down while worrying about his safety. . . . I drew him this picture one day and told him our relationship was the best blend of two completely different worlds. He grew up in New York and I grew up in the country of North Carolina. We both had completely different childhoods and experiences but somehow we fit together perfectly. . . . #lovestory
